Lydia Blakeley, When Species Meet, 2019

New paintings by Lydia Blakeley and Lucy Evetts are on show at Transition Two Gallery, in a newly opened exhibition that explores the complex and varied interactions of humans with all kinds of creatures, especially domestic animals and pets, examining the philosophical, cultural, and biological aspects of these relationships. The two painters focus on animals that appear in popular culture, from 10 Downing Street’s Larry the cat to the killer whales showcased at SeaWorld.
