Pia Riverola, Palazzo Galli Tassi, 2022

This brilliant breakfast set-up, photographed by Pia Riverola, offers a new take on the term al fresco. And it’s one we’re rather partial too. The dreamy scene took place at the Palazzo Galli Tassi, a former governor’s palace built in 1510 in the heart of Florence. Three floors of the awe-inspiring building are now home to Numeroventi, “a design-driven artists’ residence and boutique hotel”, run by Martino Di Napoli Rampolla. Which means that you, too, can dine there, should you wish, alongside this rather remarkable Renaissance fresco.
