Wednesday weariness à la Louise Bourgeois. This wonderful portrait of Bourgeois and one of her textile sculptures was captured by Belgium-born photographer Alex Van Gelder. Between 2008 and 2010, the last two years of the French-American artist’s life, Bourgeois granted Van Gelder unprecedented access to her private world, allowing him to photograph her both at work and at play. An edit of these profoundly personal images feature in the 2015 photo book Mumbling Beauty, published by Thames & Hudson, accompanied by text from Hans Ulrich Obrist—a must-read for any Bourgeois fans.
