This week, German gallery Berlin Blue opens the third volume of their Emerging Artists series, which spotlights up-and-coming artists from all age groups. Alexandra Searle’s sculptures mix apparently hard surfaces with floppy positions, in this case, a rather humourous one. The artist uses restrictions—often strips of material used for exercise or industrial purposes. In her work Something For the Weekend, this is a simple fold in the form. The winner of the competition will be announced at the gallery opening tomorrow.
