Alisa Gorshenina, I See Everything, 2018

A different kind of mask, courtesy of Russian artist Alisa Gorshenina (aka @alicehualice). Using Instagram as her principal platform, the twenty-five-year-old has garnered quite a following over the past few years with her beguiling blend of art and crafting. Based in Nizhny Tagil, a small industrial city in Russia’s mountainous Sverdlovsk Oblast region, Gorshenina spends her time inserting her myriad creations—hand-sewn dolls; ceramic breasts; outfits adorned with anatomical features; masks of all shapes and sizes—into scenes from her everyday life, with sublimely surreal results.
