A vision of Sunday fun by New York-born artist Ana Benaroya. Benaroya is one of fourteen creatives to have shared the reasons why she draws with Elephant for a new feature on the topic. “Drawing for me was my entry into art making,” the artist, whose work offers a queer perspective on the human body, explains. “It brings me back to when I was a little kid drawing in my sketchbook, laying on my bed, listening to the radio. That magical alone time when it was just me in my room and I could live within my imagination. Drawing brings me back to that feeling, and why I fell in love with making art.” Discover the other artists’ varied reasons for picking up a pencil here.
