Ukrainian image-maker and photojournalist Anastasia Vlasova has dedicated her career to capturing her homeland, her photographs ranging from intimate documentations of everyday life to what she terms “human rights violations, and the humanitarian aspects of the war in Eastern Ukraine”. This image from 2017, titled Finishing School In The War Zone, shows a 17-year-old girl dressing for her school graduation ceremony in Shchastya in the Luhansk area of Ukraine, an accompanying text explains—a town which, at the time, lay just 13 kilometres away from the front line in Eastern Ukraine.
