Relationships and sexual identity inevitably come with their own power dynamics, but these are more strongly felt when they exist outside of the regular, heteronormative structures of society. A new group exhibition at PS120 in Berlin, titled A Strong Desire, explores a revaluation of these structures, challenging gender constructs and toxic masculinity with works by a remarkable array of artists. These range from older luminaries like Kenneth Anger and David Hockney to younger names like Monika Grabuschnigg and Andrew Homquist, who draws upon popular culture and everyday life for his lush paintings.
