What is your favourite autumnal artwork? We love this 1987 piece by the British artist, photographer and environmentalist Andy Goldsworthy. Best known for his ephemeral land art, sculpted from natural, found materials—in this case a fiery spiral of fall leaves surrounding a black hole—Goldsworthy first documents his sculptures on camera and then leaves them to grow, shrink, decompose or decay under the watchful gaze of whoever may stumble upon them.
