Arquitectonica, Casa Los Andes, Lima, Peru, 1985

Postmodern perfection in Peru. This wonderfully wavy building is the work of Arquitectonica, the celebrated international architecture firm whose bold use of materials, geometry, pattern and colour aims “to introduce a new brand of humanistic modern design to the world”. In this instance, Arquitectonica dreamed up a whimsical Memphis-meets-Hejduk home for Jan Mulder and Sylvia Fort-Brescia in Lima. It’s one of their most fun and frivolous designs to date, from its multi-shaped windows to its endlessly undulating facade.
