A panties-sporting peach by Swedish artist Arvida Byström. The pert piece of fruit features in a new book by Emma Lewis titled Photography: A Feminist History, in which the author asks “beyond the ‘genteel lady hobbyists’ and the ‘gung-ho pioneers’ [of photography], where are ‘the working-class women who set up studios to make ends meet’ and ‘the ordinary folk quietly recording their communities because they knew that no one else would?'”—as Chloë Ashby writes for Elephant.
