We can’t get enough of Moor Mother, best known for her music, but also an activist and poet, who collaborates with artist, writer and attorney Rasheedah Phillips for the ICA’s Temporal Deprogramming live commission. The two week programme created by the pair’s Philadelphia-based interdisciplinary project Black Quantum Futurism features music, performance, spoken word, talks and workshops until 25 August; including this striking piece, ShadowGrams, with combines tradition with a warped, post-Internet vibe. “Their work sits at the intersection of activism, art and speculative fiction writing, and is centred on a radical artistic methodology inspired by Afrofuturism, Afrodiasporan engagements with space and time, and quantum physics,” says the ICA. A lot to take in there, but all fascinating, and well worth a look if you have the chance.
