It’s Bonfire Night, time for those of us in the UK who are idiotic enough to leave the house at this time of the year to pull on every available woolly item of clothing in the wardrobe and go out to stare at some flames and fireworks. We might all be familiar with the foiled Gunpowder plot of Guido “Guy” Fawkes, leader of a group who wanted to blow up the Houses of Parliament. It has become one of the most beloved and bizarre celebrations in the British calendar. As this image by Kip of collective Broken Fingaz of a classic, heart-warming, marshmallow-toasting fire suggests, Bonfire night has probably survived all these centuries because of the way we celebrate it.
