A serving of fried egg excellence courtesy of Claes Oldenburg, who created this giant, cotton and canvas sculpture in the late sixties with his then-wife Patty Mucha, a talented seamstress. As anyone familiar with the American Pop artist will know, Oldenburg was a diehard champion of the mundane, famed for his oversized replicas of everyday objects and foods. The humble but visually enticing egg was one of his favourites.
