British artist Dominic Dispirito graduated from the Slade in 2017, with an exhibition that fused together painting and animation, and blurred the lines between the two. His painting style has since become more defined—and this week he opens an exhibition of works at Annka Kultys gallery in London. Dispirito “creates animations, paintings and sculptures that may on first glance appear simplistic, with a sketch-like rather than polished feel, but on closer inspection [they] are revealed to be wittily observed and subtly sophisticated representations of the British working class,” says the gallery.
