Harry Weese, Shadowcliff, 1968-69

Who else wants to while away their weekend in this serene structure by the American modernist architect, Harry Weese? Dubbed Shadowcliff and built in the late 60s, the glass and Corten steel box juts out from a verdant cliffside overlooking Lake Michigan. The design features on @living_structures, a research project by French-born, London-based creative director Florine Bonaventure, which also happens to be Elephant’s  Instagram of the Month. Find out more about the project and its evocative exploration of what writer Joanna Cresswell terms “the endless hypnotic ways humans inhabit and shape the world” here.
