Sundays are for self-reflection, as this delicate painting in gouache, tea and gold leaf by the Pakistan-born, New York-based artist Hiba Schahbaz reminds us. Schahbaz, whose deft practice has expanded in recent years from miniature painting to life-size works on paper, uses her art as a means of celebrating the female body. She explains that her aim is to “[create] a space for herself and other women to tell their stories and reclaim their histories”.
