Genesis Belanger’s sexy and surreal sculptures go on show at New Museum in New York later this month, made from porcelain and stone, and washed in pastel tones. Her works are funny and full of visual puns—a tongue emerging from a lighter in place of a flame; a floppy cigarette slumped over an ashtray; red lipstick suggestively appearing from its packaging. Holding Pattern opens on 22 January.
