Monster Chetwynd, Winter Commission 2018

Looking for some out of the ordinary christmas lights? Look no further than Monster Chetwynd’s gigantic leopard slugs, who are slithering their way up the façade of Tate Britain this holiday season, leaving a trail of LED slime in their wake. Each creature measures ten meters and is made of compostable material, in-keeping with the artist’s environmental concerns. The work was inspired by the slug’s mating rituals, which include intertwining tube-like growths that glow blue.
