Isabelle Wenzel, Bum #1, 2010

Hump day, perfectly embodied by Isabelle Wenzel. The German photographer is usually the subject of her own work, creating arresting images using a timer and her own, incredibly flexible form (she’s a trained acrobat, incidentally). Her practice deftly blends self-portraiture, sculpture and performance art, offering up her physical form as the focal point in a variety of surreal settings, to playful and aesthetically pleasing effect.
