J. Mayer H. Architects, Sarpi Border Checkpoint, Georgia, 2011

Sunday undulation… This curvy observation tower sits atop the Sarpi Border Checkpoint building, located on the coastal border between Turkey and Georgia. It was build by Berlin-based architecture studio J. Mayer H. Architects, renowned for their supremely shapely designs, which they describe as existing “at the intersection of architecture, communication and new technology”. The white and wavy structure contains a series of elevated terraces within its folds, which beautifully reflect the sun’s golden glow as it sets each evening.
