This verdant haven, a one-bedroom home built on a grassy knoll, northwest of Mexico City, was the inaugural project of bio-architecture pioneer, Javier Senosiain. The structure’s unique shape is inspired by that of a peanut shell and comprises “two wide oval spaces with lots of light, united by [a curved corridor] in low and narrow gloom”, in the words of its maker. As pictured, the building’s facade merges seamlessly with the surrounding foliage, while the inside boasts an organic minimalism, the aim being that inhabitants are “aware of the uniqueness of [the interior] space without losing integration with the exterior green areas”.
