There’s something strangely satisfying about looking at people in the act of looking—just as Hong Kong-born, London-based illustrator Joey Yu has done here, adding a meta dimension by committing her impression of visitors peering at artworks in London’s National Gallery to paper. Yu is a shrewd observer, her characterful drawings (which have adorned the pages of The New York Times and The Financial Times, among others) capturing life’s fleeting moments in vivid colours and loose lines.
