Ukranian photo collective Join the Cool are shortlisted for this year’s New East Photo Prize, which celebrates the best in photography from Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Russia and Central Asia. The collective comprises Anastasiya Lazurenko, Kristina Podobed, Daria Svertilova and Genia Volkov, who create photographs, performances and mixed-media works which play with high school cliches and formal vignettes. The show of sixteen finalists previews tonight at Calvert 22 Foundation in London, where the winner will be announced.
