König Galerie—which has already opened impressive and unusual spaces in both Berlin and London—has now set up camp in Tokyo, bringing surefire crowd pleaser Juergen Teller to the Japanese capital for its inaugural show. Despite being in a different continent, there is a cheeky nod to the gallery’s European roots in this new venture: a key work shows the British actress Kristin Scott Thomas wearing a “EUnify” hoody from König’s Souvenir range. The photographer’s classic portrait of Kim Kardashian scrambling up a dirt bank also makes an appearance, as does this small frog—one leg trailing down a large stack of plates, as though it is about to make a tremendous jump (and perhaps cause crockery-smashing carnage in the process).
