Nobody paints drunk revellers with quite as much skill as the German artist Kati Heck; we should all aim for our New Year’s Eve to be this joyful as this. The artist specializes in inebriation, capturing the fun, boredom, playfulness and wild abandon of being drunk—and drawing on the connections between surrealism and altered states, as each of her works contains motifs and objects which don’t quite fit within a naturalistic setting.
