Happy birthday to Keith Tyson, born on this day in 1969. The Turner Prize winner looks to scientific methodologies, poetry and mythology to create drawings, paintings, installations and sculptures. He treats materials as “programmable information”, using algorithms and data to produce his works, but also references organic activity such as the actions of a florist to assemble a bouquet, which is based on instinctive, aesthetic considerations. He is exhibiting new paintings at Hauser and Wirth until 7 September.
