A twisted take on the escalator, courtesy of Argentine artist Leandro Erlich. This intertwined installation formed part of a series of site-specific works by Erlich, commissioned by the Paris department store Le Bon Marché in 2018. Celebrated for his mastery of optical illusions, the artist rose to the occasion in heady style, transforming the shop’s windows into cloud-filled skies and its famous escalator into a hypnotic knot of white tiles.
