Happy Mother’s Day! Here’s a beautiful work by South African photographer Lebohang Kganye from her series Ke Lefa Laka: Her-story, begun three years after her mother’s passing. While looking through old photographs, Kganye realised that many of the clothes her mother was wearing in them were still in her possession, while many of the locations were familiar to her. Inspired, she began a journey into her mum’s past, donning the same outfits and posing in the same spots her mother had before her, before superimposing her own image on top of the original pictures in a poignant act of remembrance and celebration.
