Happy National Orgasm Day to those in the UK! And what better way to celebrate than with Linder’s highly charged photomontages, currently on show at the Monteverdi Gallery in Tuscany (until 31 August). The British artist has long used collage as a way to lampoon gender roles, editing pornography with everything from flowers to sports cars, and creating madcap domestic scenes where women become fused with household appliances. In her latest series, she doctors a 1964 book by Harrison Marks, the king of “glamour photography” who was also known for his nudist and porn movies, and reimagines the pin-ups as earthly goddesses surrounded (and partially obscured) by flora and fauna.
