German photographer Lucas Zimmermann was driving through the streets of his native Weimar one foggy night, when he noticed how beautiful the traffic lights looked in the evening mist. Inspired, he went home to get his camera and embarked on a series of experiments using long exposures to capture the spectral effect . “I once read that you can’t create a perfect moment but that you will witness them,” he told WePresent of the impetus behind the resulting two-year project. “We only have to stop from time to time and let it happen.”
