Ludwig Hoffmann, Stadtbad Oderberger, Berlin, 1898

What’s your favourite indoor swimming spot? We think the arch-adorned Stadtbad Oderberge in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg district would make for a pretty luxurious wallow. Designed by the architect Ludwig Hoffmann at the turn of the nineteenth century, the pool was initially intended as a public bath house. It was closed for almost twenty years, but after being fully renovated is now a functioning pool once again—replete with atmospheric neon lighting—this time as part of the Hotel Oderberger, which opened on the site in 2016.
