Another case for the indoor tree, captured in the city of Caserta in southern Italy by the late Italian photographer Luigi Ghirri. Ghirri’s images boast an otherworldly quality, thanks to his life-long preoccupation with scale and illusion, his mastery of composition and his embrace of a soft, hazy colour palette. “[His pictures] alter the perception we have of the world without proposing a single path to follow,” noted the critic and curator Francesco Zanot. “Rather they provide us with the tools we need to find the one we’re looking for.” Just what we need to kickstart the week.
