A poetic start to Monday, courtesy of Polish photographer Marcin Ryczek. Surprisingly, this perfectly composed shot was unstaged. Ryczek said that he had been admiring the captivating contrast between Krakow’s River Vistula and its snowy banks during a number of winter walks he took in 2013. But it was only when he saw a pedestrian feeding the swans—and noticed the complementary effect of the man’s black jacket and the swans’ white feathering against their respective backdrops—that he felt moved to capture the scene on camera, with truly mesmerising results.
