Genuine footage of the Elephant team trying to conquer our emails before the holidays commence… Well, almost. It is in fact a painting of a slowly sinking, human-leg-bolstered cat, by the British artist Steve Smith (aka @mars_black). Smith’s commonly animal-centric artworks are surreal, silly and strangely zeitgeisty all at the same time—cats sit at alone tables, birthday cakes and glasses of wine before them; black sheep protest with placards in a snow storm; a dog at a booth on an empty mountain road advertises his psychiatric services—and we can’t get enough of them.
