Thirty years on from the first day of demolition on the Berlin Wall, and its liberating effects can still be felt on the city. After the Wall fell in 1989, clubs, bars, galleries, and studios began to spring up everywhere, filling empty buildings, factories and vacant lots with life. A new club and cultural scene blossomed, paving the way for a new generation of young creatives. This image of the musician Peaches, taken by Martin Eberle, features in the exhibition No Photos on the Dance Floor! Berlin 1989—Today. The wide-ranging show celebrates the history of Berlin’s club scene since the fall of the Wall, and is on display at C/O Berlin until 30 November.
