The ultimate homage to futuristic living, this voluptuous, bubble-domed home was dreamed up by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen in 1971. A keen exponent of flexible, yet cosmopolitan living, Suuronen was one of many architects at the time looking to replace “stale international modernism with blobby, curvy, sleek forms for a casual, easy-going lifestyle”, and he certainly succeeded in this instance. Modular and maintenance free, the Venturo House comprised seven easy-to-transport parts, made from fiberglass-reinforced plastic, metal, and glass. Plus, you could even invest in an optional sauna for the full Barbarella effect.
