A little Wednesday whimsy, courtesy of the so-called “big basket” building in Ohio, designed by architecture firm NBBJ and Korda/Nemeth Engineering. Built in 1997, this wicker-imitating wonder is the former headquarters of the Longaberger Company, purveyors of pottery and—you guessed it—baskets, and was modelled on its best-selling Medium Market Basket (just 160 times the size). The company went bust in 2018, and the building was bought a year later by a property developer looking to reopen it as a hotel. Sadly, because of the pandemic, it’s now back on the market as of January this year.
