Elephant stands in solidarity with those bravely fighting for women’s rights in Iran. This striking photograph of a young woman, dressed in black, and wearing a hijab and a pair of bright red boxing gloves, was taken by Iranian photographer and member of Magnum Photos, Newsha Tavakolian. It forms part of her 2011 series Listen, highlighting what Magnum describes as “the cultural restrictions on female singers in Iran”.
