Russian artist Nickie Zimov employs unusual hues and simplified forms to disrupt his evocative paintings of everyday life. Haunting and hypnotic in equal measure, this work is part of Zimov’s Sexual Devotion series, which he describes as “a study of human sexuality in conditions of loneliness”. Though it was made in 2016, the mood is somehow very 2020.
