Elephant believes that visual thinking triggers societal thinking. Elephant Lab exists in the spirit of this belief, a space to foster creativity and feed curiosity, encouraging experimentation and collaboration to investigate the correlation between life and art.

Elephant Lab Digital Residency programme is open to all artists practicing painting and drawing. This is the opportunity to push and experiment with premium art materials from supporting Fine Art brands Winsor & Newton and Liquitex. Practising artists are invited to make proposals for a one month digital residency with Elephant Lab. Here is an environment where artists can investigate and innovate with materials supplied by the fine art brands, supported by on the Elephant team. All proposals should have one or more of the following attributes:

 

  • Experimental
  • Innovative
  • Collaborative

 

Selection Process

Digital Residencies are one month long and will be held during March, May, August and November. Shortlisted artists will be interviewed on Zoom and successful applicants will receive £1000 RRP worth of premium art materials, one on one mentoring, crits with art professionals and a social media showcase.

Who Can Apply

All UK based practising artists in painting and drawing with their own studio are welcome to apply. We will also consider applications from Europe, local terms and conditions will apply. We charge £15 administration fee for all applications.

Maddie Yuille

Digital Open Studio 26th November

Maddie Yuille is a visual artist living and working in London. She works with paint to explore human embodiment and how we relate to the world around us. Since graduating with an MA in Fine Art from City and Guilds of London Art School (2019), she has been shortlisted for the Ashurst Emerging Artist Award (2020) and the Contemporary British Painting Prize (2019), and has taken part in numerous group shows, including with Berntson Bhattacharjee, Subsidiary Projects, The Tub, Warbling Collective, and The Auction Collective. Prior to pursuing her art practice, she completed a BA in Human Geography and worked in documentary production for a number of years – a background that informs her practice today.
