A dose of Monday mystery courtesy of Patty Chang and her 1998 work Melons, in which the American video artist slowly and deliberately spoons melon from her bra, while balancing a plate on her head. Melons was one of six experimental shorts selected by feminist film journal Another Gaze for its programme Eating / The Other, recently hosted on its streaming platform, Another Screen. The journal’s focus “is on overlooked women filmmakers, ‘whose names often can’t be found beyond the pages of academic journals’,” writes Elephant’s Louise Benson—and Another Screen’s curated programmes are perfect for those in search of great things to watch as the holidays approach.
