There is an endearing naivety to Peter Doyle’s paintings. He describes his approach as “casual”, and the clearly drawn brushstrokes add a sense of intimacy to his quietly everyday scenes. The artist did not train at art school and instead honed his craft in his younger days of graffiti; there is an immediacy to his work that is as cheerful as it is contemplative. Doyle is showing a new series of paintings, titled In Plain Sight, at The Exhibitionist Hotel until 28 April.
