Hieronymus Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights is surely one of the most influential works in history. Now, Berlin’s excellent Gropius Bau has taken inspiration from the work with a new show of the same name. The exhibition brings together the work of twenty international artists, and takes the central idea of the garden as a metaphor for the world, exploring the current state of politics and more with a focus on the precarious nature of our present times. Rist’s work, picture above, takes visitors—who lie in the floor to watch the work above them—to the original biblical garden, with two naked “Eve” figures floating in a technicolour universe.
