This week, a new show opens at Signs and Symbols in New York, between long time collaborators Carmen Winant and Rachel Libeskind. Both artists work with found images, which imbues the works in this show with a decidedly retro feel. But they have far more in common than that. “Libeskind and Winant, who practice feminism and motherhood, both explore the manner in which the body itself comes apart, is force to manipulation, and can come to re-define its center,” writes the gallery.
