It’s National Day of the Cowboy today in the United States—naturally this piece by Renee So came to mind, which is currently on show at the Whitechapel Gallery’s London Open show (until 26 August). Two pairs of distinctively cowboy-like boots kick across the stretched knitted fabric, recalling the loaded history of the American Wild West with just the simplest sartorial symbol. Yee-haw!
