Primitive is a term used for the naive icons of Italy, Greece and Russia, richly decorated with beads and embroidery and most often created by non-professional painters. My residency project is very close to “primitives”, creating something like soft sculptures or canvas painting. In the Moscow part of the project I used recognizable and ordinary local plants and flowers. In London I intend similar research and the hero of this piece of art will be weeds or vegetables, like the potato flower from my country house.
