“For the last few years the basis of my painting research has been photography of urban decay and the gritty physical details of city life: the composition of dilapidated buildings, the form and colours of peeling paint, the juxtaposition between a shiny façade and fading graffiti. These images that I take are often starting points for the finished paintings. However, I have yet to completely combine the two.”
