This wall of weeping eyes is the work of San Francisco-based artist Robin Isley, who manipulates old photographs and paintings on their iPad to surreal, often unsettling effect. Isley grew up obsessed with Lewis Carol’s Alice in Wonderland, and their enduring appreciation of life’s curiosities is evident in their collages, where eyes crop up in unexpected places and humans merge with animals in strange, gothic hybrids.
