A new exhibition opens at the Royal Geological Society in London today, bringing together fifty shortlisted photographers for the inaugural Earth Photo. Ruben Salgado Escudero‘s documentary image feels as though it comes from another world—and in many ways it does speak of a divide between worlds. Cristobal Cespedes Lorenzo and Francisco Manzanares Cagua are shown transporting coconuts across the river to Copala, Mexico. These are subsequently sold to a company which makes coconut butter and oil: two items in high demand.
